Images below capture the spirit behind the real-life application of "many hands make light work". The power of dreaming and organizing invites everyday people to make a big impact when we believe it's possible, do our part, and do it together.
This barn once flooded, and no amount of bucket activity will prevent the barn from flooding. Only moving the barn will make it dry and usable. We are working in coordination to move the barn so everyone can heal and thrive. So drop your bucket, pick-up a handle, and listen to the guy with the microphone, Jesus, "Let them be one, as we are one." :
If you are reading this it's because you have been invited to partner. Everyday we are invited by the world to invest our attention, time, talent, and treasure in so many ways. The average person in the US filters through 7,000 ads a day. That's mentally taxing. Attempting to get through the noise, I want you to believe me. If you decide to not partner financially, there is No Love Lost. This post hopefully hammers that message home.
Further, I know the commitment of partnering often comes with ambivalence. I experience the same tug-of-war as I say yes or no to the invitations before me. I can tell you that those who I've said yes to, have been incredibly gratifying. I hope you've experienced the joy of being a "joyful giver" to someone looking to shed more light in the world.
At the time of writing this, 10 months into the journey, I am implementing a new sustainability strategy. I have met the goal of 100% funding for this fiscal year. Due to one-time giving, I am currently 85% sustainably funded. This means that 85% of my partners are investing at a frequency (monthly/annually). SRS trained me and thousands of others in becoming sustainably-funded so to be fully mission-focused. To account for probable drop-offs and to reach 100%, I am implementing the "many hands makes a light load" philosophy represented in the barn analogy above.
If you are reading this, I'm asking you'd prayerfully consider begin partnering at a lower and very comfortable amount. (grabbing a handle on the barn that is most comfortable for you)
For you, this might mean $5/month. For others, it might mean between $25-$100/month. For even others, that might mean $1,000/year. If a number comes to you, let it simmer and please let me know. Echoing my No Love Lost post, whether yes, no, or "not now, I'll get back to you" I’m grateful for direct communication that results in financial partnership, other partnership, or the respect of honesty.
Finally, I just launched a more quantitative "personal impact dashboard" here that highlights a sliver of impact made in the community. These coincide with regular updates that are more qualitative in nature.
If you have decided to partner, Thank You Deeply. Here is the partnering platform you can use to begin. I am weekly notified of your beginning and ongoing partnership.
Barn lifters and rope-holders, Thank You. We literally could not lift the barn together without you.
Love to you and yours,
Paul
