A Care Community is a tight-knit circle of sustainable wrap-around support, surrounding a family in need. These families can be of any variety - foster, adoption, kinship, or biological.
IMPACT:
Coalition of Care has helped to form 35 Care Communities (205 volunteers) through 20 churches throughout Ohio. (see map below)
There are over 1,600+ Care Communities across 28 states through our parent organization, Promise686.
GOAL:
To wrap-around as many foster/adoptive, bio, and kinship families as possible.
We could wrap-around 20,000 families if we could!
HOW THIS MOVEMENT GROWS:
We need more people willing to become volunteer, part-time, or full-time staff with Coalition of Care to onboard and oversee more Care Communities. Fill-out this form if interested.
The more workers we have the more families we can wrap-around. Right now our co-worker Amy is the only one fulfilling this role between Cincinnati and Dayton.
COMPOSITION:
Each Church assigns a leader or two (advocates).
Advocates raise up team leaders.
Team leaders connect with the family every week and send out an update to the team.
Team leaders rally a team of 6-8 families to wrap-around and support 1 family through many ways shown in the image to the right.
A family receives a meal-a-week on rotation.
